Turn parental control into child empowerment
Less screen time, less nagging, healthier habits.
Currently in development. Made for children aged 4–8.
How it works
At 6am the box releases the day's Okins. You decide how many.
When they want screen time, they pop an Okin into the slot.
Each Okin unlocks the iPad for the time you set. When time's up, it locks itself again.
Give children back their childhood
Apps are built to keep children watching. Okinz teaches them to manage their own time instead, so they learn to self-moderate and go find something else to do.
When time's up, time's up. The box says no, so you don't have to.
Your child chooses when to use their screen time, within the limits you set.
Okinz doesn't track what your child watches. The box works offline and stays off your home Wi-Fi.
A pile of tokens makes time real. Young children can see how much they have left.
For parents
Any iPad running iPadOS 16 or later, so it's ideal for a hand-me-down family iPad.
No. The box talks to the iPad over Bluetooth and never joins your home network.
The lock is enforced by the iPad's own Screen Time system, so closing the Okinz app can't unlock it. Timed sessions still lock again on schedule.
Yes. A parent unlock sits in the settings, behind your PIN.
It isn't accepted. One token, one session, so screen time can't be stacked up.
